Puget Sound Precast

In 1905, Dan Trippear started a business called Automatic Wilbert Vault Company Inc. in Tacoma, Wa. They sold concrete vaults, marker bases and other related products. It wasn't until 1980, when 3rd generation owner Glenn Colbert started a precast division. Now, under 5th generation ownership, Puget Sound Precast specializes in architectural and custom precast concrete products. From stairs, manholes, and catch basins to retaining walls, trash receptacles and picnic tables & benches, they are a go-to for many business like ourselves. And because we specialize in the traffic industry, Puget Sound Precast is our trusted supplier of concrete products such as wheel stops, curbs, and pyramid sign blocks to name a few.

Here at Alpine Products, we stand by many of Plasticade's® products, such as their recycled rubber wheel stops and numerous signage options.

Lewis Bolt & Nut Company

Formally "Indian Bolt & Nut", Lewis Bolt & Nut Company was started in 1921 by the Northern Pacific Railroad to make bolts for the repair of railroad cars. Now, they have a variety of products. They have numerous kinds of bolts, nuts, washers and screws. Their products are extremely high quality and seem to exceed all of their customers expectations. This is why we choose to get their Steel Wheel Stop Spikes. We needed a big amount of 12" pins at high quality and Lewis Bolt & Nut easily takes care of that for us.

When it comes to manufacturing traffic products, Ennis-Flint is experienced and operating at a high level, resulting in a recognizable name worldwide.  They also made another name brand in the traffic world, specifically for Raised Pavement Markers of all types. And so, Stimsonite was born! Since creating the first pavement marker around 1964, Stimsonite markers have led the industry in product innovation, quality, value and service.

Imagine how our society would be without any signs. The roads would turn into chaos, parking lots would turn into mayhem, and private properties wouldn't be so private to say the least. While that may be a bit exaggerated, the variety and volume of signs that Alpine's Sign Shop is capable of making quickly and efficiently is not. While other sign shops list many signs for sale, their lead times average a few weeks to even months, especially if you throw in something custom. For example, you need to finish a job by the Friday. It's Monday afternoon and all you need to complete the job is 6 "Reserved for..." signs that have different names on each. Good luck getting those signs in time to finish your job. You're better off taking that time and coming up with things to tell your customer why you're late. Instead, give us a call or send us an e-mail. We'll make sure your signs are completed and in your hands in time to complete that job.

Alpine Products, Inc.

Since 1978, Alpine Products has been in the traffic business for almost half a century! Often referred to as "the paint shop", we have an enormous variety of traffic products besides traffic paint. Being a one stop traffic shop, we're expected to carry many types of traffic products including posts/bases, wheel stops and markers of all kinds. But why carry all of those products without having a way to apply them in the first place? That's like a car dealership selling cars with no motors (or batteries!). Which is why we also carry epoxy! We have a few different types for many different purposes, but because of our high volume in markers, we had to have our label on our own two-part epoxy specifically for applying markers and bases to concrete.

Alpine Products, Inc.

Since 1978, Alpine Products has been in the traffic business for almost half a century! One of our many products that we manufacture ourselves is Raised Pavement Markers. Now, considering the various types, shapes and colors of RPM's that we sell, we only manufacture one specific type. It isn't a square 4"x4" or a rectangle 4"x3". Matter of fact, it's not one of those "1-way" or "2-way" kinds either. Alpine Product's manufactures Circle shaped RPMs! They come in two colors, White and Yellow, but our "yellow" is unique to the standard. And because we have made and sold our "yellow" markers before anyone else, they are still on our roads today! Check them out!

Traffic stencils are an affordable and easy way to mark roadways and parking lots for pedestrians and roadway users alike. Our Sign Shop produces these stencils, mostly out of polymer plastic sheets with a thickness of 1/16" or 1/8" (aluminum is available upon request). There are a few reasons why the stencils we produce are pin-point accurate and precise. Whether the stencil is designed in house or provided to us, the secret is our CNC machine that makes it all possible. The artwork is loaded onto a computer linked to the CNC machine and a sign shop associate will get the necessary material ready to be cut. Then, the CNC does the rest, resulting in a stencil that is cut exactly to what was desired! We carry various stencil wording, alphabet kits and number kits in numerous sizes, but if you need a stencil that we don't have in stock, send us the artwork or tell us what you want. Then we will send you the artwork for approval.

On April 2, 2012, Ennis Traffic Safety Solutions and Flint Trading, Inc. merged to become Ennis-Flint, Inc., a worldwide leader in the traffic safety and pavement marking industry. Sometime in the late 1960's, Rayolite (then "I.T.L.") was given the task by the Department of Transportation (DOT) to improve highway visibility during foggy, dark and rainy conditions. Their solution at the time was a cubed corner reflective lens that could be installed on highway lines for delineation during night-time. This lead to the creation of Raised Pavement Markers. Now, with the technology and innovation Rayolite is capable of along with the goal of safer highways, they manufacture and sell high quality RPM's throughout the U.S. & 20 more countries worldwide.

Pavement Markers

Pavement Markers or Raised Pavement Markers are essential to roadway safety. They play an important role as a safety function on the roads while at the same time, communicating travel paths for short- and long-range vehicle operation.  And although anyone can buy a type of marker for various reasons, they actually have specific purposes when used in traffic. White is used on the center and sides of a road when the striped lines are white.  Yellow is used in the same way when the lines are yellow.  Green designates an area where vehicles are allowed, much like a green light.  Red designates a restricted area.  Blue shows that a fire hydrant is nearby, normally directly in line with the marker. Yellow/Red is for yellow striped roads that are one-way streets so the red would show that a car is going the wrong way. Overall, Raised Pavement Markers improve delineation and increase preview time particularly under wet conditions. They statistically have been shown to decrease crash rates on highways that have Raised Pavement Marker center lines by approximately 0.5 crashes per million vehicle miles. With that being said, Raised Pavement Markers of all kinds are necessary on all roadways.

Alpine Products knows how essential Raised Pavement Markers are to the traffic industry. We carry various types with numerous colors for all necessary purposes on our roadways. At a great price too! Check them out!

Striping Paint

According to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), "the application of markings is more than a matter of placing lines on the roadway. It is, in effect, the installation of a traffic regulating system on a highway." There are many types of traffic markings that help ensure the safety of our roads and parking lots, but there wouldn't be any sort of traffic regulating system anywhere without striping paint. Our roads would be like a Nascar Raceway! And although many of you would enjoy that, it would be extremely dangerous to navigate anywhere whether you're walking, biking, driving, etc. There are many different types of paints that exist today. Whether it's for the interior/exterior of a home, canvas for an artist or for roads and parking lots, it's important to know the type or base of your paint. The two main types of traffic striping paints are either solvent based or water based. These are designed to adhere to concrete or asphalt surfaces, where other paints won't adhere or will peel off in a very short period of time. Our traffic striping paints are formulated with a good balance of drying characteristics, abrasion resistance and resin quality, in which are perfect for roads and parking lots. Designed for no heat application, they can be applied by air or airless equipment. These are extremely fast drying paints, less than 60 seconds dry to no-pick up. This makes it so the area isn't closed to traffic for long periods of time.

Here at Alpine Products, we carry a variety of types and colors of traffic striping paints. Afterall, there is a reason why we're commonly referred to as "The Paint Shop!"

Temporary Tape - Foil Back

Temporary Pavement Marking Tapes are a foil-backed, temporary solution used in work-zones, new construction areas and roadway repairs. They provide temporary reflective delineation and direction to traffic thru and around these areas. The foil backing is a pressure sensitive backing that provides a secure bond to an asphalt or concrete surface. Application is extremely fast in time-sensitive scenarios, while remaining intact during heavy traffic and extreme high or low temperatures. This leads to easy removal with heat or simply paved over.

Here at Alpine Products, our Temporary Pavement Marking Tapes or Temp. Tapes are referred to as "Visa-Line." Visa-Line by Swarco are the Temp. Tapes we stand by. All our rolls are Construction Grade, 4"x300'(100yds) and come in White or Yellow.

In the end, Visa-Line makes our roads safer and reduces the chance of injury, while helping the flow of traffic and avoiding detours and road closures.
