BC Thermoplastic Durable Traffic Line Striping

Product Description

BC Thermoplastic TP is a durable, reflective striping material for traffic marking. It is hot extruded directly and securely on any pavement in a molten state by mechanical means with a surface application of glass spheres. BC Thermoplastic TP must be preheated to a temperature of atleast 425 degrees F. For application at a minimum temperature of 400 degrees F. A Clean, Dry surface is necessary for optimum adhesion with no possiblity of moisture before or during application. 

APPLICATION: 

The Thermoplastic material shall readily extrude at temperatures of from 400 to 425 degrees F. (204-218 degrees C.) Using approved equipment to the optimum line thickness should be from 1/8″ to 3/16″ (3.2 to 4.8 min./90 to 125 mils) and be continuous and uniform with sharp dimensions. 

SPECIAL NOTE: 

Applicatioin should be done at a temperature of 50 degrees F. and above. The air temperature, it should be noted, should RISING and not FALLING below 50 degrees F. during and following application. Wind conditions should be moderate, with a relative humidity of 60 percent of below. 

STANDARD EXTRUSION SHOE WIDTHS: 

4″, 5″, 6″, 8″, and 12″ (10, 12.7, 15, 20, and 30 cm). A thickness of 1/8″ (0.3 cm) or 125 mils is the normal film thickness. 

COVERAGE: 

One ton (907Kg.) will lay 4,000 to 5,000 lineal feet (1.6 Km) of four-inch line depending on texture and condition of road surface; approximately 3,300 lineal feet (1 Km) of six-inch line.
